That is not true. The website "http://seaplexscience.com/2009/11/13/millions-billions-trillions-of-scientific-errors-in-the-nyt/", written by a research at Scripps, states: "There is no evidence for this. There certainly is a lot of trash, but there have been no measurements of either the trash’s total area or its growth rate."

I am looking for plastic pallets which will be soluble to water within 4-5 hours moulded and applied with cement composites. Mould of this plastic made should stand weight of human walking on it too.

Reason of use is that it will self decomposed without burning to leave holes to set cement composite.
